Build a Jewish life on solid ground. Every Orthodox tradition, one heart and one purpose.

Torah (teaching, תורה) is the teaching handed down through Moses, and everything that flows from it. Takash sets it out plainly, one short section at a time, with every point traced to a named source.

Whether you're just encountering this for the first time, or coming back to it after years away, you're welcome here. No background required.

Takash is short for Tachat Kanfei HaShechina (under the wings of the Divine Presence, ⁧תחת כנפי השכינה⁩), the phrase Jewish tradition uses for coming close to G-d and joining the Jewish people.

Nine ways in:

Takash draws on a spectrum of sources, and says whose voice you are hearing. In Halacha, each section is labelled with the traditions of the sources it cites: Sephardi (such as Halacha Yomit), Ashkenazi (such as Aish, the OU and the cRc) and Chabad (the Shulchan Aruch HaRav, through Shulchanaruchharav.com). Some sources speak across communities and carry no label, such as Rabbi Manning, Din Online and Pninei Halacha, which is listed last and presented as one view among several. Careful, widely held practice comes first, and where Sephardi and Ashkenazi practice really differ, the section sets them side by side. In other categories we also draw on Chabad.org, Hidabroot, Rabbi Sacks, Ohr Somayach and classical texts, and name them. Minhag (custom, מנהג) means the tradition a community follows. If yours differs, follow your rabbi.

We're building this out.

Takash is early. More teachings are being written and added all the time. To hear when there is something new, join our WhatsApp group and ask for Chaya Kong.
